About this attraction

Walter P. Chrysler, auto giant and founder of the Chrysler Corporation, helped his father, Henry, and brother build the small clad house at 102 W. 10th Street in 1889. The surrounding white picket fence holds safe the memories of a boy growing to manhood in Ellis, Kansas. The first car to bear Walter's name, the 1924 Chrysler "6", is housed in the museum behind his boyhood home. Follow Walter's life from Ellis as a champion marble player to one of the greatest auto-makers of the 20th Century. Hours of operation: April - October Wednesday - Saturday 10 am - 4 pm
